Reducing Glare When Driving

Driving when you have the sun in your eyes can create a dangerous situation. It's important to take precautions both to improve your ability to see and to increase your visibility to others. At Chico Hyundai, we can answer any of your questions about ways to manage driving in the early morning and late afternoon.

Keeping your windshield clean, both on the inside and out, and reduce the amount of light that gets scattered into your eyes when you're facing directly into the sun. Check your windshield for pits and cracks that could impair your ability to see. To keep from having items reflecting in your field of view, don't store papers or other objects on your dashboard. A pair of polarized glasses can help minimize glare.

To help other cars see you, drive with your headlamps on. Be sure to leave plenty of space when following other vehicles.
